The Master Mark

One mark. White filled.

The rule: The master Vortex™ is a white-filled mark. When the logo appears with a register palette, it may take one colour from that palette instead. White is the default whenever a colour is not specified.

On light grounds: white is invisible, so the default inverts to that register’s ink. This is the one case where “white by default” cannot apply literally.

Every option below clears 3:1 against both its base and its card surface (WCAG 1.4.11), measured. Variants exist for reproduction conditions, never for colour — a colour is chosen at point of use, not kept as a separate approved version.

Usage Notes & Constraints

Apply these rules to all logo use.

Approved
Monochrome only
The mark is always a single flat fill or stroke — never multi-color, gradient, or partially filled. The shape carries all the meaning.
Minimum size
20px rendered height
Below 20px, the orbital details and inner circles lose legibility. At 20–32px, use the mark alone without wordmark.
Clear space
0.5× mark width on all sides
No other elements, text, or borders should enter the clear space zone. Scale with the mark proportionally.
Wordmark
Audiowide only
The wordmark "Carbotura" is always set in Audiowide Regular. Never set in Inter, JetBrains Mono, or any other typeface.
Never do
Rotate or skew the mark
The mark is rotationally meaningful — its orbital positions are intentional. Rotation breaks the visual logic of the shape.
Never do
Stretch or distort
Scale proportionally from the SVG viewBox. Non-uniform scaling distorts the orbital relationships in the mark.
Never do
Add drop shadows or effects
The master SVG includes a legacy drop-shadow filter — strip it for all production use. The mark is flat.
Never do
Low-contrast placement
Never place a white mark on a white background, dark mark on dark background, or any combination below 3:1 contrast ratio.
Color selection
White, or one register colour
The mark is white by default, inverting to the register’s ink on light grounds. Where the logo appears with a register palette it may instead take the one approved colour from that palette, shown above. Nothing else: Magenta, Mustard and Lime are retired, and Signal Orange is an action colour, never the mark.
